The Kibugu station is located on the volcanic highlands of Mount Kenya—one of the most prized terroirs in East Africa. Mineral-rich soils, cool nights, and pure spring water come together here in perfect harmony.
Kibugu is part of the Kibugu Cooperative, which brings together eight washing stations and approximately 800 farmers. Each farmer owns, on average, just 0.1 hectares of land, so coffee trees are cared for almost entirely by hand: only ripe cherries are picked and delivered to the station on the same day.
In the cup, it’s a classic Kenyan experience: bright red currant acidity, fresh green apple notes, and a surprisingly soft finish reminiscent of uzvar (a traditional dried fruit infusion).
